Welcome my name is Lauretta. I am a plus sized qualified Personal Trainer hailed as a groundbreaking fitness activist in the fight against obesity and inactivity. I am currently a size 26 previously size 34-36.

I offer a powerful liberating message to people who are considered ‘fat’, ‘plus sized’, ‘obese’ or ‘inactive’ who want to get fit and don’t know where to start, encouraging them to take up and sustain exercise.

Based in Fulham, London and specialise in training overweight/ obese/ full figured male and females I also successfully train groups and run classes. When it comes to exercise, diets and fitness I have been there, read the book done the deed, wasted money, punished and injured myself with exercise and diet plans that did not meet my needs.

As a qualified instructor, I have designed training programmes that take into consideration the fitness level and possible related health conditions of someone who is full figured or obese. I also offer behaviour change and nutritional coaching. Using a variety of coaching techniques, I can support you on your fitness and healthy eating journey.

Imagine yourself being fit and healthy. Standing up and sitting down from a chair easily without effort. Imagine looking forward to and enjoying exercise, dancing, walking those extra miles, running for a bus without a care, taking the stairs or climbing that extra stairwell without looking and feeling exhausted.

WHY FULL FIGURED FITNESS?

We live in a society where obesity is looked at negatively. It is seen as a character flaw, laziness, a lifestyle choice and insult to health.

Lauretta Johnnie Full Figured Fitness exercise for the overweight So many of the people who provide services to the obese patient or client buy into that culture of blame or ‘otherness’ therefore do not meet the needs of their overweight clients, we can feel when someone is rooting for us or critiquing us.  I needed to get fit without the shame and loathing, without pressure stressing me out. I needed to take myself away from environments that offered me disgust, pity, sympathy or over zealous ‘save my life’ trainers instead of support.


In order for to get myself and others fit safely and effectively I designed fitness programs specifically for the overweight, de-conditioned or inactive body.

I originally had this idea over 17 years ago.  When I first trained as an Exercise to Music Instructor I used the idea as my case study!   Today Full Figured Fitness has helped me and many others improve fitness levels including:  core strength, muscular strength, functionality, endurance, flexibility, range of motion, burn fat and lose inches as well as help build confidence – it can help you too.

Get fit from a place of personal responsibility, self love and healing your body, not hate and shame. Feel positive about your body, focus on mindset and change.  Importantly take small steps and yield huge results. I am not in the business of making society ‘like’ me. Neither am I in the business of selling you unrealistic, unachievable goals.

I am a qualified fitness professional as health and safety is paramount.  It is important to have knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as know how to plan and progress exercise and make adaptations for specific needs and outcomes.
